Plot synopsis
Having learned that his father is seriously ill, Max, who married a German woman and lives in Cologne, goes to him in Leningrad and asks him to agree to his marriage. But the father who has experienced war, siege, and the death of his loved ones, is unable to forgive his son. After the funeral, Max sees his friends for the last time and, in the cold autumn of his hometown, walks the streets for the last time.
