Plot synopsis
Vassily Gubanov, a young communist, arrived at the construction site of a power station in Zagora after the Civil War. He had to struggle against peculators, procure building materials. He fell in love with the married woman Anyuta. After she was severely beaten by her husband he took her to his place. When defending the train which delivered bread Gubanov was killed and Anyuta gave birth to a child.
