The characters in the film are named after the seven notes - Do, Re, Mi, etc. The story takes place in a certain European kingdom of Bufferia, where fascists and capitalists are in charge. The king dies without leaving an heir, and the most suitable candidate for the throne seems to be Prince Do, who is mired in debt. But on the way to the capital, Do falls out of the airplane into the river, and when, miraculously surviving, he gets there, it turns out that the hairdresser Sol, who was mistaken for him, was himself declared king.
At first, Sol is lost, but his random answers are quickly interpreted “as it should”, in the spirit of the political situation. Thus, when asked about measures to resolve the state crisis, Sol recalls “hot poultices, lead lotions,” which delights the fascist leader Fa. Gradually, Sol takes on the role and makes increasingly harsh statements.
