Teenage Max has built a rocket and dreams of flying through space, becoming the first child in space, and getting his mother's attention and love. Her orphanage friends Vika and Pashka consider her idea stupid and dangerous. They steal a strange suitcase from the train station, hoping to find a "galaxy" for Max there. But they find an atypical little boy there who doesn't want to get out of his suitcase because the "outside" world seems too noisy, bright and incomprehensible to him. His mother desperately tries to find a suitcase containing her autistic son, whom she loves very much. The young people decide he is an "alien" and try to return him to his mother, but they face difficulties that bring them together, and perhaps separate them forever
