Screen version of the play «The Russian People» by K. Simonov.
Captain Safonov, in spite of his deep feelings to the girl scout, sends her with a mission to the town occupied by fascists. A traitor reports them of the girl’s crossing point and she gets into fascist prison. Safonov sends Globa, an old and experienced soldier, to help the girl. He manages to put the enemies off their guard and to save the girl at the cost of his own life.
