The plot is based on the real events that took place in occupied Minsk, when the Soviet partisans, under the leadership of the teacher Ganna Cherna, dicovered the plans of the German command.
Thanks to the subtle game of the still inexperienced scout Marina Kazanich, the partisans took prisoner and, fulfilling the will of the people, executed Hitler's governor, Gauleiter Wilhelm von Kaunitz, who had gained notorious for his atrocities.
