Plot synopsis

This four-part documentary, made up almost exclusively of newsreel archives, talks about the contribution of the Uzbek people to victory over Nazism during the Second World War (the Great Patriotic War). One in three Uzbekistanis fought in the war, and in the period from 1941 to 1945 more than 538,000 people were killed, out of a total population of 6.3 million.
