The talented pianist Messiatsev, married and father of a family, suddenly falls in love with a young woman with whom he is ready to "rebuild his life".
But nothing turns out the way he expected. He loses the family that was so dear to him. Her son becomes a drug addict and dies. Messiatsev loses interest in life.
