Born on November 15, 1972 in the city of
Sverdlovsk. In 1994, he entered VGIK’s
Directing Department, the auteur television
cinema workshop of Alexei Gabrilovich. In
1996, he transferred to a feature film directing
course under the guidance of his father,
Vladimir Khotinenko. His films were awarded
prizes at film festivals. “Asphalt Sun” was
awarded the Special Jury Award for Best
Feature Live Action Film at the Providence Film
Festival, USA.
