Born in St. Petersburg in 1997, Renata Dzhalo graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, where she studied under Alexey Uchitel and Alexey Geleynin, in 2021. During studies she made the films “Lullaby for Mamlakat” (doc., 2019), “Skype” (doc., 2019), “I See, or How Kunitsyn and Sinitsyn Argued With Each Other” (2021). In 2019, she staged the performance “Vitya Needs to Get Out,” which was staged at Ploshadka 8/3 and at the School of Contemporary Play. In 2021, she released her first independent film, “About You” (doc., short film). “Lenechka” is her debut in a feature film. Her second feature, “On This Earth”, is currently in production.
