Biography
Born on October 26, 1931 in of Gorky (Nizhny
Novgorod now). A graduate of the Leningrad
University (1954), he worked as a journalist,
editor, script-writer, author and cameraman
at Leningrad TV. In 1965, he entered the
Higher Film Directing Course at "Lenfilm"
(G. Kozintsev’s workshop). His debut film was
"Valentin Kuziayev‘s Private Life". He’s mastered
many genres. He authored and filmed
many TV films and serials: "The Summer in
Berezhki", "Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson",
"What Dead Man Said", "The Dark". In
1981, he founded the "Troitsky Most" Film
Studio.
In 2002, Maslennikov was awarded
the Russian Federation State Prize.
