Plot synopsis
Advertised as a "cinema thing without script, without actors, without directors, without sets," Kino-Eye combines images planned or sought out by Vertov with images caught largely by accident. Kino-Eye captures two poles of Russian life: the "New" Russia (kids organized into Pioneer units; the Soviet Union's nopn-gendered, politicized equivalent of the Boy and Girl Scouts), and the "Old" Russia (drunken peasants, mental asylum patients, and black market dealers).
