Born on August 17, 1958 in Tashkent, the capital of the Uzbek
SSR. In 1979, he entered the Tashkent Theatre and Art Institute,
Drama and Film Actor Department. In 1983–1985, he served in
the Armed Forces of the USSR. Since 1980 he worked on radio,
television and in theatre. He staged a number of performances in
Russian and Uzbek theatres. In 1994, he graduated from the
Higher Directing Courses in Moscow (workshop of B.Zagryazhsky,
D.Firsova). His debut film “Peshawar Waltz” (1994) won prizes
and awards at Russian and international film festivals. In 1995
– 2001, he worked in the Czech Republic on a TV channel ChT 1,
as a director and scriptwriter of documentaries. Directed over 30
documentaries. In 2000, he returned to Moscow. Works on
different television channels and in different film companies.
Director and scriptwriter of television series “Cobra” (2000),
“Ambulance” (2003), “Citizen Chief – 3” (2010), “Law and Order" (2013) and others.
