Biography
Born in 1954 in the village of Shakhty 5-15 of the Uzlov District in the Tula Region. Graduated from the department of journalism of the Moscow State University (1976), the scripting department of the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (1984, workshop of S.Lungin, L.Golubkina). Wrote more than 20 scripts for feature and documentary films. Taught a scriptwriting class at the VGIK (1994-1998). Author of novels and stories published by the editing houses “Vagrius” and “Text”. Winner of the “Nika” award for the best screenplay (1995).
