Plot synopsis

Pomors have inhabited the coast of the White Sea since ancient times. Their whole life has been closely connected to the sea: they gratefully accepted its gifts, they tearfully made sacrifices to it. Pomor wives are still living in the villages on the shores of the sea, being the faithful companions of fishermen. Still, their crafts are disappearing and so are the Pomor women. The film tells the story of the last Pomor “wives”, the indigenous women of the shore.
