Plot synopsis
Aymas, the 55-year-old hero of the film, lived a lot. He arrives from his steppe in a lost provincial town in southern Kazakhstan. There, yet another stroke of fate strikes him. Aymas receives the news that her only daughter is dead and that she has left him all her fortune. Apparently, neither the death of his daughter nor this wealth that fell suddenly from the sky seems to impress our hero. Perhaps because the image of his daughter had almost been erased in the memory of Aymas: he had not seen her for more than 25 years… Aymas wanders aimlessly in this village whose streets are constantly drowned in the fog. Chance made him meet a young girl called Samal. In Central Asia, Samal means "wind". The girl is in fact similar to the wind: capricious, carried away and unpredictable. She acts as she sees fit and breaks all taboos. She reminds Aymas of her daughter. For Samal, the hero embarks on a whole series of adventures with unexpected consequences. Aymas has the impression that he and the girl are getting closer and closer. But how do you get closer to the wind and lock it up?
