Plot synopsis
The film is based on the novel by Alexander Kotov "White and Black". In the center of the story is the fate of the fourth World Chess Champion, a Russian emigrant Alexander Alekhine in the most tragic period of his life: from the conquest of world chess champion title in 1927 until his death in 1946.
