Plot synopsis
The film is based on the novel «Farewell with Matyora» written by V. Rasputin and tells us about a dramatic flooding of Siberian village in connection with a building of the hydroelectric plant. It is very tragically for senior citizens to part from Matyora. Several old women who postponed their departure from day to day had not time enough to leave the island. The fatherland went to the bottom of the river became their grave.
