Plot synopsis
The movie is based on the eponymous play by Vladimir Nabokov. «The Event» tells the story of a painter Troscheikin, his wife, her mother and sister living in some provincial Russian-speaking Western town or community. The return to town of a certain Mr.Barbashin shatters the monotony of family life. Five years earlier in a bout of jealousy he shot Troscheikin and his wife and promised to “finish them off ” upon his release from jail…
