Plot synopsis
Based on Anatoly Dimarov’s novella Simeon Reznik. The summer of 1941. A poor Jewish wagon slowly moves away from Kolomya, occupied by the fascists, to the yet carefree Poltava. The handsome portly Simon, his incomparable beloved wife Basia, their red-haired children born in love, will find shelter in a Ukrainian village on the banks of the quiet Khorol, they will be saved from the annihilation that awaits them all…
