Plot synopsis
Maxim Perepelisa, a Ukrainian guy is known in his home village for his readiness to laugh and extraordinary inventiveness, which he skillfully uses to avoid all and any kind of work. When he receives conscription notice from the army, the collective arm command even wants to deprive him of this honored duty, but then gives a guy a chance to mend his ways. First Maxim is trying to avoid the hardships of army service by trickery and only with time realizes his wrong…
