Plot synopsis
It is reported that an average citizen of the Earth spends ten years of his life before the TV screen. It is pointless to question if these years are lost, it is impossible to imagine our civilization without the TV. Although less than 100 years have elapsed since its invention… How did it come about that over this relatively small amount of time TV managed to engulf the planet Earth and its inhabitants? To what extent is it a reflection of social prejudice, complexes, expectations? To what extent is it a mirror of social psychology? Is the phenomenon of TV related to the phenomenon of faith? Has it become something like a religion of the 20th century? Why did the pioneer of TV Zvorykin name his invention “iconoscope” and in what way was he right? What role does it play in the life of each of us? The film suggests answers to these and other questions
