…. In June 2010 he would turn 60….
To his dying days he retained nave faith in people and
ideal love. He deluded himself and forgave betrayal; he suffered,
but believed in the existence of an ideal human
being.
Even when he became a State Duma deputy, it was difficult
to imagine that he can be called Yuri Petrovich. A brilliant
journalist, writer, he created an impression of
Ioselianian “Song-Thrush”. Always a bit disheveled,
slightly stammering, in a hurry, he valued friendship above
all, was “wildly romantic” and devotedly sang to the guitar.
And everybody thought back then that everything
would be fine and nobody would grow old.
Our film is a biography of the journalist, writer, statesman,
who devoted his life to struggle for justice, loved people
and life and dreamt of a dignified future for his people. His
life started in the middle of the 20th century and ended in
the beginning of the 21st. A short bright life… I wish it was
not perceived as a life of a modern Don Quixote fighting
windmills…
