In 1953, the young agronomist Pyotr Shurov, with the help of the team leader Alyosha and other collective farm workers, and despite the decisions of the president of the collective farm Samovarov, known for his conservatism, sowed wheat in the loosened soil. Samarov complains to the regional management about the agronomist’s illegal actions. An investigation is open. Sure of his rights, Shurov does not shirk his responsibilities. Intern Tosya Elnikova has no doubts about the successful outcome of the case and is already in love with her modest and resolute colleague.
